Finding your inner Warrior

There are many titles we can give those that are brave enough to look illness in the eye and give it the middle finger.

I say this because we all have a choice. When I was going through my cancer treatments, I heard countless stories of people who, after hearing they had the Big C, walked out of the oncologist office and never looked back. It wasn’t that they were seeking alternative treatment, they chose not to get treatment at all, typically due to fear of the process (not that I blame or judge them.  I totally get it). The other side of the coin is when a spouse or loved one found out about the disease, couldn’t handle the stress of the situation and simply disappeared, either physically or emotionally.

Neither are a great idea in my book, nor the path my husband and I took, thank God.

And if you are reading this, I have a feeling that your path is one of a Wellness Warrior.

Find out how you can be a Wellness Warrior here>>>>

When we are fearless, we literally lack fear, meaning there is no hesitation to do something. Small children can be fearless because they don’t know better. They will put their hand on something hot because they don’t know it will burn them. The brave, on the other hand, take a moment of hesitation before doing something they know may have a negative result, think about the fear they are feeling, and do it anyway.

That takes some serious balls!

And for that I applaud every single person who gets up when they want to lay in bed with the sheets over their head, and lives. It doesn’t matter if you are a patient or a caretaker, anyone who shows up to the party with the attitude of, ‘Let get this figured out’, is a true warrior.

Here are some other of my favorite traits we Wellness Warriors have:

We never give up. Never ever.
We aren’t afraid to be vulnerable and admit we are having a bad day
We don’t get stuck in depression, we work through it and move on
We are strong mentally
We are great advocates for ourselves and others
We are compassionate…so compassionate because we understand
We are forgiving of ourselves and others
We are willing to look deeper at ourselves and our options
We don’t accept inhuman care. If someone sees us as nothing more than a chart, we fire them and find better care
We never, ever give up

I could go on, but I think you get the idea. I started a FaceBook group called Wellness Warrior Tribe to inspire all of us warriors to come together and encourage each other in whatever positive way we can. Alone we are strong but together, we are invincible. It is time to gather our army and fight on. When you know someone has you back, you can dig even deeper and find even more bravery than you knew existed. I know what it’s like to feel alone. Been there, done that. Not a fan. It’s way more fun to be in this with those who truly understand and are willing to laugh anyway. Join the Tribe

But if you’re not sure how to become the best warrior you can be, sign up for my FREE tele-seminar Wednesday, February 3rd.  This live workshop will give you the skills to be the strongest version of yourself and let you live your life Well without perfect health.
